This evening, the Alberta Lymphedema Association held an amazing talk presented by Catherine Bowman and Dr.Stanley Rockson, MD, FACP, FACC.  Talking about “Research at Stanford – Bringing a Drug to Lymphedema Patients and Outcomes within the Health System for patients”.

Have you heard of the Alberta Lymphedema Association? If not, let me introduce you.  This is a great volunteer-run organization that helps educate and bridge the gap between the healthcare system and the patient.

In general, I think most people would find that this GAP is pretty big somedays, and unfortunately, it is HUMUNGOUS when it comes to lymphedema.  The educational component and literacy with lymphedema is slowly growing, but does not seem to be in conjunction with the needs of lymphedema patients, and also with medical professionals.

When you need information for your health, go to trusted sites, and not just dr.”search engine”.
